Guides & Staff

The Arctic Adventures family consists of interesting people from different parts of Iceland and different parts of the world. Some are tall, some are short, some are constantly high on life while some have more serious appearance, the Icelandic style. All are professionals, each in their own field. Some are passionate mountain climbers while others thrive on white water kayaking, diving or skiing. Everyone has their thing. However, what really ties the team together is that all of us have at least one thing in common, love and respect for the nature. The young company, built on old roots, has been successful in providing its clients with diverse adventure tours since it was established in 2005. The selection of day tours gets wider every year, keeping our clients happy, and the staff even happier. By taking a look at our website you can browse through all the different day tours and multi day tours we offer, both summer and winter editions. Summers are busy for the team but we all absolutely adore that time of year. We thrive on busy days, flip flops and the bright summer nights. Winters are less busy but there is no need to hibernate, less work for the team but more time to travel and play. It´s clear that the owners, sales staff and guides have to be quite a team to make the whole thing work out, each an expert in their own field. As individuals we are all quite hard to deal with but as a team we match as apples to an apple tree.

The owners are adventurers from top to toe with years of experience in managing the "Big Arctic Adventure". They have a special talent of making things work out and they both have developed a unique skill of being able to answer business calls on their mobile phones under very extreme conditions, for example while being pulled up a ski lift in -15°C and before taking off their dry suit after a rafting trip in +25°C. Both have adapted to office work admirably fast, but are tempted to do some guided trips in between to keep their mental health. They use their limited spare time to fulfill their own adventure dreams, in Iceland and abroad.

The sales department is a team of geniuses who know all our tours by heart. They have all been on them and enjoyed them, for their own fun or as guides. Everybody at our sales department will be happy to assist you finding the perfect trip for you if you are in any doubt.

The guides have all gone through the training necessary for their work. Along with the high standards set by the company which takes care of a big part of the guides training, most of the guides have finished an Icelandic guiding diploma, along with some other important international training such as Wilderness First Responder (WFR) and Swiftwater Rescue Technician (SRT) along with many others...
