Testimonials

From Andy

The glacier tour and ice climbing was the most expensive excursion we did, but well worth every penny. The guides really look after you and they take safety really seriously. Walking on the glacier with crampons was amazing and the ice climbing just made it that bit more memorable.

Easily our best memory of Iceland!

The Crew of the Borea are always happy to go to work...

Arctic Adventures Social Responsibilities in Iceland

We don´t only care for the environment, we also care for the people living in it. Especially children! Arctic Adventures donates a fixed amount every month to a few selected causes and some extra to occasional fund raisers.

The causes we chose to donate to in 2012 are:
Unicef, SOS Children Villages, Umhyggja Association for Children in Hospitals and Save the Children.
Save the Children Unicef SOS Children´s Villages Umhyggja

We also give all the lost and found items (that are not collected) to the Red Cross. At our restaurant at Drumbó we give all hot drinks away and instead we ask people put money into our Red Cross spare change jar located by the coffee machine.

Economic Responsibility:

On our tours and in our restaurant at Drumbó we use all the Icelandic ingredients we possibly can e.g. we only use Icelandic lamb meat, fish and vegetables.

Every single trip we operate is genuinly Icelandic, packed lunches are made with Icelandic ingredients such as cabin smoked lamb from Húsavík and dried fish from Vestfirðir. If we dine in restaurants we eat for example at Rauða Húsið or Hafið Bláa, that are Icelandic seafood restaurants in the small towns of Eyrarbakki and Stokkseyri on the North Atlantic coast. All our services are performed in the countryside or highlands and we are fiercely local, using only hostels, guesthouses or hotels where we have a personal relationship with its owners and staff.
