Valley Hopping - Hiking Day Tour from Ísafjörður

Easy half day hiking tour in the mountains around Ísafjörður town in the Westfjords in Iceland.

This walk takes you into the wide and green valley of Hnifsdalur where we will follow an old road up thevalley to the Thjofatindar peaks. Between the peaks is an easy mountain pass that offers a spectacular view over Isafjordur. From there we descent a bit and make our way down to Seljalandsdalur valley, passing small mountain lakes and patches of almost fluorescent green moss. From the cross country ski center, we walk the main road back to Isafjordur.

Guaranteed Departures: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 12:50 from the Tourist Information Center. Please be there on time as the bus leaves promptly at 13:00. Pick up from Isafjordur airport in connection with the morning flight.

Price: 5.990 ISK per person. Includes a free pick-up from Ísafjörður Airport in connection with the morning flight.

Packed lunch can be provided for 1.200 ISK.

Duration of trip: 6 hours. Available: 1st of June - 30th of September. Minimum: 2 persons. Maximum: 20 persons. Age limit: 12 years. Bring with you: Warm outdoor clothing, waterproof jacket and pants, some headgear and gloves, day backpack, water bottle, swim suit and towel..and of course: hiking boots. Good footwear is the key to enjoy this trip. Please note that there might be some snow on the route in early June.
