Testimonials

From Beatriz

Landmanalaugar - Pórsmörk 5 days Hike. It was one of the best experiences of my life! The guide (Kristján) was fantastic, he was very helpful to all of us, and knew so much about the places we were visiting; we were really lucky with the weather, the organisation was absolutely brilliant, the food was excellent... I would book again an activity with Arctic with no doubts if I go back to Iceland! Thank you so much!

FAQ about River Ride Canoeing

Are we going down the river on our own or will there be someone with us?
There will always be a guide/guides with you. Most days there will be other adventurers joining the trip, either on canoes or on rafts. The guide/guides will be on rafts or on kayaks. You get to ride and steer your own canoe by yourselves.

Will I get wet?
It is really common to flip the canoe, but if you don´t flip, the river will make sure, that you will get on some nice splashes. Most likely You will get wet! We will provide wet suits and neoprene shoes to keep you warm. Just bring with you a warm sweater (fleece or wool) and warm socks, if you want.

Is it easy to flip the canoe?
It happens daily! The river guides will teach you how to steer the canoe and how to act, when the canoe flips. The guides are with you all the times, so they will help you back to the canoe, if you have any problems!

Do we have to have previous experience in canoeing?
We recommend that you have done so rafting or white water canoeing before. Our guides will teach you before the tour how things works.
