We started rafting the Hvítá River (pronounced Kveetau) more than 27 years ago and since those early days it has been the most popular adventure activity in Iceland. The Hvítá river is a beautiful and fun river a little more than one hour from Reykjavík. The river has a perfectly balanced mix of serene canyons and adrenaline pumping waves and rapids. On our way we pass through the magnificent Brúarhlöð canyon and in that stunning setting participants have the option of jumping from a cliff into the river. Who can resist going glacier river swimming in Iceland?
No one should leave Iceland without experiencing the power that its rivers contain and lay eyes on the scenic canyons of Hvítá river...not to mention relaxing with a beer in our sauna after a day of adventure!

7.990 ISK per person without pick-up..
11.490 ISK per person with pick-up at 8:00-8:30 and lunch.
12.490 ISK per person with pick-up at 12:00-12:30 and BBQ dinner
Available: Everyday at 8:00-8:30* or 12:00-12:30* from Reykjavík and 10:00 or 14:00 from Drumbó base camp, from the 15th of May to the 15th of September. No minimum is required.
Shoulder Season: Everyday at 12:00-12:30* from Reykjavík and 14:00 from Drumbó base camp, from the 15th of April to 14th May & 16 September to 1st October. Minimum 4 persons.
Duration of trip: 3-4 hours, 7-8 hours with pick up.
Included: River Rafting on Hvitá River and an entry to the sauna.
Bring with you: a warm sweater, bathing suit, change of clothing and a towel. No knowledge of the sport required.
Age limit: 12 years for rafting the whole river and 10 year old to half of the river.
The Drumbó basecamp serves a lunch buffet every day from May - September at 12:00-13:45. So if you have your own car you can stop there for lunch before your afternoon rafting trip or after your morning trip and save money and time. Dinner is served after the afternoon trip at 18:00.

If you are making your own way to Drumbó raft base you can add a lunch buffet or a Viking BBQ dinner before or after your trip.
Price on lunch buffet: 1.390 ISK per person. Note: lunch has to be pre booked.
Price on viking BBQ dinner, flame grilled BBQ icelandic lamb: 2.590 ISK. Note: BBQ dinner has to be pre booked.
* If you are staying at one of the many hotels and guesthouses in the city center then your pick up for your tour will be at 8:00 or 12:00 from the Arctic Adventures main office at Laugavegur 11. The office is located in the heart of the old city center. Click here to see a map of our location.
