Testimonials

From Ruth

Greetings once again!

I just wanted to send a quick email thanking you folks for the fantastic service we received from your company. Thanks to Elisa for her help (and autograph on the brochure) when setting up our day tours.

Special thanks to Carlos for the warm welcome we received in Drumbo as we prepared for our River Fun Rafting Adventure and to the whole crew who made the boat-kite-runaway trailer an experience to remember.

I'd also like to especially thank Ingo and Palli for their patience with me and my siblings during our snorkeling tour on 5 September. Ingo was especially helpful with added suggestions for some sightseeing destinations on our way to Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon in the following days.

Once again, kudos to everyone who helped us experience Iceland to our fullest potential. I honestly believe I will return to Iceland in the future and cannot wait for my next adventure with you!

Two Fjords - Sea Kayaking Day Trip from Isafjörður

Sea kayaking day tour for kayakers with some paddling experienced from Ísafjörður in the Icelandic Westfjords. This adventure offers the possibility of viewing whales and seals on our most challenging sea kayaking trip.

Trip difficulty: 4 out of 5 possible - Demanding

The bay of Isafjardardjup offers excellent kayaking for both beginners and experienced kayakers. The serene beauty of the fjord system is well known by locals but unfamiliar to the outside world. The coast of Snaefjallaströnd really gives you the feeling that you are close to the Arctic Circle with its snow cowered hills and the fifth largest glacier in Iceland just around the corner. The Folafotur (e. Horse Leg)a small peninsula between the sheltered fjords of Seydisfjordur and Hestfjordur, is a beautiful place to paddle around in a long day, enjoying the marine wildlife and the coastline from a unique angle.

The tour starts with a 40 min car drive from Isafjordur to the head of Seydisfjordur. After a short introduction and safety briefing, we will prepare the kayaks and begin the kayaking portion of the trip inthe calm waters along the coast. At the end of the peninsula, we make a landing on the sandy beach to see the unusual rock formations caused by erosion as well as visiting the abandoned farm houses. We will keep a good look out for seals and whales on the way as this is a place where they are often seen. If the weather is particularly good and the group is prepared, we can paddle the short distance from Folafotur to Vigur Island to enjoy the great bird life and relaxed atmosphere. Paddling along the coast of Hestfjordur is our next mission and we make landfall by the main road. Drive back to Isafjordur.
