Testimonials

From Jim & Beth

Dear Arctic Adventures,

My wife and I had the pleasure of booking your Golden Grand Slam on August 8th, and it was truly an awesome experience made even more special by our guide, Ingo.
He was a total professional; really cool, laid-back, and very knowledgeable.  We felt like we were being shown the beautiful landscape of Iceland by a friend rather than a tour guide.
We were especially impressed by his knowledge of Icelandic history, geology, and culture.
Thanks to Ingo and Arctic Adventures for an unforgettable experience.
Take care.

Equipment list for overnight (2 days) super jeep tours

Clothing:
All inner clothing should be woolen or fleece/polyester. Those materials keep their insulation capacity when they get wet, which is essential for Icelandic conditions. Avoid all cotton materials, and jeans should never be worn during mountain tours. The outer layer must be wind and waterproof. Good hiking boots are necessary. The list of necessary things is the following:

- Two pairs of inner shirt and long john’s made from wool or fleece.
- Light wool sweater or equivalent in fleece.
- Thick wool sweater or an equivalent in fleece.
- One pair of trousers of a strong and light material that dries quickly
- An insulated ski jacket or ski anorak of waterproof material, Gore-Tex or equivalents is preferable.
- If you have a down jacket, then we recommend that you bring it along.
- Waterproof trousers from the same material as the jacket.
- Waterproof hiking boots with soft but sturdy sole.  They should either be leather or mixed leather and
nylon.  Gore-Tex is a preferable extra.
- One pair of warm, waterproof gloves or mittens.
- Two pairs of wool socks.
- A good wool hat or balaclava.
- A headlight and batteries (led lights are best).

Other gear:
- Penknife (optional)
- Sunglasses and sun protection
- Towel, toothbrush, and digital camera (not obligatory)
