Testimonials

From Ann

Torfi,

Last Thursday my boyfriend and I went on the Over & Under trip with Ingo and I wanted to let you know that we had an absolutely amazing time. Seeing the lava fields in Iceland was unreal, and crawling through the lava tube was such a unique experience. We are already planning our next trip to Iceland.

You should know that Ingo was a fantastic guide. He was very friendly and knew so much about the land, including some unforgettable stories and fables. He even brought us hot chocolate! After our trip he drove us around Rekjavik for a few minutes to show us his favorite restaurants. We went to some of his recommendations and they were wonderful. He went above and beyond and we were so grateful to him. Please tell him thank you from both of us!

Winter Golden Circle Super Jeep Day Tour with a Lava Cave Trip

Combo Trip: Driver Guided Super Jeep Safari, Golden Circle Sightseeing & Lava Caving. Day Tour Available Directly from Reykjavík City.

Trip difficulty 2 out of 5 possible. Rated: Easy

Starting with a pick up from Reykjavík in on of our specially modified super trucks we will drive up to the Blue Mountains and gear up for a cave adventure. We will descend into the pitch black wonder world of Leiðarendi lava cave. There we will see how Iceland was created and how it continues to take shape before our very eyes. The Leiðarendi has many of stalagmites, stalactites and other weird heat formations created by the magma at the time of the eruption.
Next we stop to visit the National Park Thingvellir where you will see one of only two tectonic rift valleys in the worlds, created as the continental plates of America and Europe slowly drift apart. Þingvellir is also the only UNESCO‘s cultural world-heritage site in Iceland and it was here that the Vikings held their parliament and passed out judgments. We will walk down through the Almannagjá canyon before heading along gravel tracks toward the world-renowned geothermal area around the Geysir hot spring. At Geysir we will see a variety of geothermal pools and Strokkur, the erupting hot spring, surely one of the highlights of any visit to Iceland. From here we continue onwards to Gullfoss waterfall where we walk down to the cascades for a closer view of the 32 meter high “golden” waterfall.

From Gullfoss we will blast through the 1000 rivers mountain track on our super jeep, crossing the river several times. We will race through the lava fields of the dormant volcanoes and get an up close and personal feel for the Icelandic nature. Finally we drive over the Hellisheiði mountain seeing the new geothermal power plant before reaching Reykjavík again.

This trip offers an amazing ride through the landscapes and natural forces that have shaped and continue to shape Iceland. The ultimate super-jeep combo trip from Reykjavik!
