Testimonials

From Lisa

The highlight of our trip to Iceland, however, was the Black and Blue Tour. Every bit of the tour exceeded our very high expectations. Likewise, I have not come across a more enthusiastic, personable, interesting guide than Gulli who was stuck with just the two of us for an entire day, but managed to make it fun. He definitely made the experience what it was, and we are both very thankful to him for letting us take the time to explore all corners of the cave and waters, and for all the information and stories he shared.

I very much look forward to making future bookings for my next trip to Iceland.

My sincere thanks,

Lisa

Northern Lights Hunt - Guided Evening Super Jeep Tour

Winter Evening Driver Guided Super Jeep Tour with Lava Caving & Lobster Dinner.

Trip Difficulty 2 out of 5 possible. Rated: Easy.

Your pick up will arrive at your hotel in the shape of an enormous Super-jeep with an expert guide at the wheel. The search for the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) is on! We start by exploring the hidden world in and under the lava field located in the Blue Mountains only 25 minutes drive from Reykjavik. Walking down into the lava cave and discovering the marvels that volcanic activity has created in the past is a trip that everyone can undertake and enjoy. On your underworld adventure you will see the magical rock formations left behind in the last volcanic eruption and in winter the cave is likely to be filled with glistening icicles of all shapes and sizes, a sight not soon forgotten.

After our underground adventure we head on to Rauda Husid restaurant in Eyrarbakki village on the south coast where a two course dinner (350 gr. lobster and dessert) is waiting for us. Rauda husid is one of Iceland’s most renowned seafood restaurants especially famous for its lobster dinner, located 60 km from Reykjavik surrounded by the pitch-black Icelandic winter night. From there our hunt continues.

The Auroras can only be seen far away from the city lights and from Eyrarbakki we will not have to travel far until the mountains provide the shadows we need. On cloudless and clear winter evenings, with luck on our side, we may be able to spot this beautiful and elusive natural phenomenon. Vivid and bright, the dancing northern lights in the Arctic skies are a sight to remember.

Please note that this tour is highly dependent on weather conditions and we reserve the right to cancel if the circumstances are not in our favor.
