Multi Trip: 2 Day Self Drive Super Jeep Expedition Crossing the Langjökull Glacier, Overnight at the Highland Chalet at Hveravellir Hot Springs in the Icelandic Central Highlands. Rated: Challenging Your tour begins with a pick up from your accommodation in Reykjavík by your specialist guide which will then teach you all the tricks you need to know to dominate your Super Jeep,you will also have a briefing about the adventures that lie ahead over the next two days. From Reykjavík we will drive west, through the Hvalfjarðargöng tunnel under the sea and to the Húsafell nature reserve along the Hvítá glacier river. There we will stop at the Hraunfossar and Barnafossar Waterfalls and the most powerfull hot spring in Iceland, the Deildartunguhver before we power onwards and onto the Langjökull Glacier, Iceland’s second biggest glacier measuring roughly 1.021 km2 it is also the second biggest in Europe. Located between the Eiríksjökull Glacier and Hofsjökull Glacier, surrounded by high mountains and volcanoes, the Langjökull reveals scenic views like no other. We will cross the glacier, driving on the snow and ice in the specially modified super jeep with a expert glacier guide always next to you to make sure you will be a master at the wheel. Descending down to the Central Highlands at the Hveravellir Hot Springs and mountain chalet we will take a relaxing dip in the natural hot pots in the area and enjoy the amazing views and the clear mountain air. Your guide will then barbeque Icelandic lamb for dinner and we will sleep in the rustic chalets in Hveravellir.
The second day of adventure begins with a drive along the ancient trading route between south and north, the infamous Kjölur road. We make our first stop where we formally leave the highlands behind, there you will witness one of the most impressive waterfalls in Iceland, the Golden Waterfalls; Gullfoss. From there we drive a few minutes to the Geysir Hot Springs where the spouting Strokkur belches a 20 meter high column of super heated water in to the air every 4 minutes or so. After lunch you have a choice between two of our greatest adventure trips: lava caving or snorkeling in the Silfra ravine in Þingvellir.

Bathing in Hveravellir hot springs is optional.
Bring with you: Very very warm outdoor clothing, waterproof jacket and pants, warm gloves, warm socks, warm sweater, warm undergarments, good hiking shoes, bathing suit and a towel. (Note: hiking shoes, waterproof jacket and pants can be rented if you let us know in advance).
Age limit: 12 years.
PLEASE NOTE: Driving a modified 4x4 super jeep can be very demanding and dangerous, especially in icy and wet conditions. Therefore the guide has full authority to take over the driving should he evaluate it necessary.
Off-road driving means driving dirt roads and mountain passes. Due to extreme winter conditions these roads are often hard to drive or even impassable. In such cases the guide has full authority to alter the itinerary.
Drivers have to be over 25 years old and hold a valid drivers license. All our super jeeps are with manual transmission therefore you have to be comfortable with driving a stick shift.
