From Fufaita

I booked the Black & Blue (Snorkeling & Caving) tour through TourIs, but the actual tour was performed by Arctic Adventures.

We all expected the caving first and then the snorkeling, but it was the other way round. That was even better since when we got into the cave it was raining.

For the snorkeling we got dry suits which worked very well. No need to wear swimming suits underneath. Actually I left my socks on and I was glad I did it because I always get cold on my feet and here I could really feel it. I was also cold around my lips, but that is because that's the only part of your body in contact with the water. Visibility was perfect.

For the caving we got a helmet and a head lamp. You might want to take gloves because you'll need to use your hands to get a grip. If you're afraid of darkness, then you will not enjoy the time spent sitting inside with lamps off!!

The lunch was included and consisted of a sandwich, a big chocolate cookie and juice.

I really enjoyed this tour and would recommend it.

Combo Trip: Glacier Hiking & Ice Climbing Day Tour from Reykjavík to Sólheimajökull Glacier.

Trip difficulty 2 out of 5 possible. Rated: Easy

Here is your chance to visit a glacier and not just any glacier. This trip will take you to the frozen glacial tongue that is Sólheimajökull. It is a magnificent phenomenon, a rugged, raw and ever changing hub of ancient frozen water. We will explore the crevasse riddled outlet glacier with its amazing ice formations, sinkholes and jagged ridges. Along the way we will find an ice wall on the glacier and try our hand at ice climbing. We will provide you with all the tools you need: ice axes, crampons and safety lines. A packed lunch will be served on the glacier. On our return journey to Reykjavik, we will stop at the beautiful waterfall Skógafoss.

On this trip you get to see and do what most of the population will only dream about and very few ever try. Why not be adventurous and explore the amazing crawling glacier?

Guaranteed departures: Everyday 08:30-09:00 from Reykjavík. If you have your own transport and want to meet us, then the meeting place is at 11:30 at the parking lot at the Sólheimajökull glacier, a left turn a about 5 minutes after passing the Skógafoss waterfall.
