Explore a hidden world of the lava field between Þingvellir and Laugarvatn. Walking in a cave and discovering the marvels that volcanic activity has created in the past is a trip that everyone can undertake. The Gjábakkahellir cave is a perfect example of an Icelandic lava tube and is situated in one of the most active volcano areas in the world. Price: 6.990 ISK per person without transfer, 11.690 ISK per person with transfer from Reykjavík and back. These prices are for a minimum of 10 persons, youth / school group rate.
For every 10 students one teacher/supervisor goes free of charge.
Distance from Reykjavik: 50 km.
Duration of trip: 1-1,5 hours without transfer. Ca. 3 hours with transfer from Reykjavík and back.
Available: All year round.
Age limit: 10 years.
Minimum: 10 persons. Maximum: 80 persons.
Bring with you: Warm outdoor clothing, waterproof jacket and pants. Good hiking boots and gloves are recommended! We will provide for you: headlight and a helmet. No knowledge of the sport required.
