Iceland Elements - Combo Day Tour From Reykjavík

Summer Adventure Combination Day Tour from Reykjavík

Includes: River Rafting on the Hvítá River & Snowmobile Tour on the Langjökull glacier in the Icelandic Highlands.

Iceland Elements is one of our most action packed adventure combination day tours. This popular trip offers you the unique possibility of following the Hvítá River all the way from its source at the Langjökull glacier in the south central highlands to the shores of North Atlantic Ocean on Iceland’s south coast. Along the way you will experience two of Icelands most popular adventure activities, white water rafting on the Hvítá glacier river and driving a snowmobile on the Langjökull glacier.

We will start from Reykjavík in the early morning and drive through the countryside to our base on the banks of the river. After gearing up and listening to our rafting guides explaining the basic rafting technique and safety rules we will start our adventure down the river. The Hvítá and the canyon it runs through is a supremely beautiful place and the rafting is great fun! You will even get a chance to leap from the canyon wall into the white water, glacier river swimming in Iceland!

After the rafting we will eat lunch in the base camp before heading up to the highlands. Arriving at the Langjökull glacier we gear up in warm overalls and sturdy booties before learning the basics of snowmobile driving on glaciers. Then we set of onto Iceland’s second biggest glacier; The Langjökull, the glacier is in fact several enormous ice filled volcanic craters, rimmed in by imposing volcanoes and set in the breathtaking Icelandic interior. The views from the glacier flanks of the Langjökull are quite staggering and driving the sleds is like the rafting, great fun and a unique way of exploring this northern nature.
