Testimonials

From Chris

All,

Just a quick email to say thank you so much for your help in organising the trip to Iceland. It was, not to put to fine a point on it, SPECTACULAR. Everything that could have happened did – a mountain rescue, an amazing hotel, a meal of whale meat and puffin at Lækjarbrekka, cocktail fun at Orange and a light poaching at the Blue Lagoon. And to round it all off: an Icelandic psychic on the plane home who gave everyone “dream pebbles”. Seriously. The whole thing still feels faintly surreal and dream-like, to be honest.

But the best bit? The dive. Was just utterly, utterly incredible. Not that you can tell from these pics, but this is me but this is me at Þingvellir - 40m down in glacial water with 100m visibility:

It was one of the highlights of my life. Seriously. Genuinely awe-inspiringly beautiful. Hedinn was a superb dive master, and gave me all the help and encouragement I needed. And with the our great jeep story as well (thanks to our guide Ragi – a really great guy), I think it’s going to make a great piece.

So thank you so much for your help organising it – everything worked like clockwork, and we both had an amazing time. I’ll be in touch nearer the time when we start laying out the feature, but until then, thanks again..

Glacier Grand Slam - Combo Day Tour from Skaftafell

Glacier Hiking from Skaftafell and Glacier Lagoon Boat ride
Trip difficulty ranges from 2-3 out of 5 possible.

The Glacier Grand Slam is our most popular glacier trip and for a good reason, you will visit the most breathtaking and inspiring nature that Vantnajökull National Park has to offer.

We will take a short drive through the wide open landscapes to the morraines created by the retreat of the glacier. After a short walk through the contrasting landscape of green moss and black stones we will arrive at the front of the glacier tongue where we will gear up on crampons. With your glacier guide leading the way you will soon be walking on ice and learning about the many interesting features of the glacier as you make your way towards the awe-inspiring icefall. Here you will witness up close how the ancient ice stoically crushes hundreds of meters off the mountaintops as it crawls in slow motion towards the ocean.

After our exploration we will drive to the world famous Jökulsárlon glacier lagoon where you will take a boat ride among enormous icebergs with Europe´s largest glacier mass in the background. We will take an amazing 30-40 minute boat ride on the strange looking “amphibious” wheeled boats and glide among numerous large icebergs as the Jökulsárlon guide explains the history and formation of the lagoon.

This is surely the ultimate ICEland adventure, filled with exploration, adventure and truly unforgettable views.
