From SLmimi

My friend and I did 3 day tours:
-Glacier Hiking up Solheimajokull. Climb up the glacier with crampons and also get to do a bit of ice climbing with ice picks once you're up there. We got to taste glacier ice and fill up our water bottles with glacier water. Breathtaking scenery. You can actually see the coastline from the top of the glacier.
-Black and Blue, (caving and cold water snorkeling). The caving was a bit scary and the snorkeling was deliciously cold but absolutely beautiful. I've been snorkeling and scuba diving in the bahamas and in central america and i've never seen clear water like this before. Apparantly the water is filtered through lava fields before it reaches the Silfras Fissure where you snorkel (right at the continental divide!) and you can literally see 100m below you. If you're scared of heights you might not want to do this. The water is also pretty cold, when i went it was 4-6 degrees celsius. But you're given dry suits and other than your lips, it keeps you pretty warm.
-white water canoeing, the canoes are like these little inflatable rafts that sit 2 people and look like they could flip if you breathed in too deeply. Luckily, they were much sturdier than they looked, but every single rapid is severely magnified in this little canoe and you will be in constant fear of flipping over but you will have a ton of fun. The water is cold, not as bad as the snorkeling, and you're given a wet suit. You also do a stop where you can cliff jump--I did it even though I have an aversion to heights and getting cold, but that experience definetely made my list of top 10 happiest moments of my life.

Each was a completely different adventure and amazing experience! The packed lunches are pretty good and the pick up option always helps if you don't have a rental car. Arctic adventures is definetly the company to book through if you've never been to Iceland before. Even native Icelanders book through them (we met some Icelanders on the canoeing trip). It was a bit expensive, but you will not get these experiences anywhere else for a better price or a lower stress situation.

Golden Circle Super Jeep Safari with Snowmobiling

Combo Trip: Super Jeep, Golden Circle Sightseeing & 1 Hour Snowmobile Tour on Langjökull Glacier. Day Tour Available Directly from Reykjavík City.

Trip difficulty 2 out of 5 possible. Rated: Easy

The Golden Circle tour allows visitors to get in touch with some of Iceland’s most famous and exciting natural phenomena. Our first stop is at the Þingvellir National Park 40 min due east of the city. Þingvellir is one of Iceland’s most historic sites as it was here that Iceland’s first parliament was founded in the year 930 AD. From Þingvellir we head along gravel tracks toward the world-renowned geothermal area around the Geysir hot spring. This is the one spouting hot spring that all such phenomena on Earth are named after. From there we continue on to Gullfoss (“the Golden waterfall”) where your proximity to its edge is so close you can feel the spray of the glacial water on your face. Next we kick the action into higher gear to get even closer to Iceland’s nature and go for a snowmobiling tour on Langjökull, Iceland’s second largest glacier.

We reserve the right to alter the itinerary according to weather and road conditions.

Our super jeeps seat 5 - 12 persons so our Safaris are always a small group experience!

Guaranteed departures for minimum 2 persons: Everyday all year round with pick up from your accommodation between 8:30-9:00*.

* If you are staying at one of the many hotels and guesthouses in the city center then your pick up for your tour will be at 8:30 from our Arctic Adventures office at Laugavegur 11. The office is located in the heart of the old city center. Click here to see a map of our location.

Click here to see a list of hotels in Reykjavík which are outside the city center and from which we will pick you up.

Details:
Price: 36.990 ISK per person.
Add 4.000 ISK per person to have a solo snowmobile.

This tour is also available in a self drive super jeep for 45.990 ISK per person.

Would you like more Iceland, be even closer to nature? In summer we offer two great overnight super jeep tours in Iceland:

Available: All year (depending on weather and snow conditions).

Guaranteed departures: Everyday 8:30-9:00.

Minimum: 2 persons.

Duration of trip: 10-11 hours.

Included: Pick-up from Reykjavík, driver guided super jeep safari, a visit to Þingvellir National Park, Geysir and Gullfoss, 1 hour snowmobile ride with two persons sharing a snowmobile and snow gear.

Bring with you: Warm outdoor clothing, waterproof jacket and pants, headwear and gloves.

Age limit: 10 years as a passenger on the snowmobile.

No knowledge of the sport is required!

Please note: A valid driving licence is required to drive the snowmobile.

Note:
If the whole trip gets canceled due to weather there is a full refund, but if the tour is done (Golden Circle Safari without activity) and only the snowmobiling is canceled due to weather the refund is 6.000 ISK. If the snowmobiling is canceled we can sometimes offer an extra super jeep adventure or an hour of quad biking at the same price, then there is no refund for canceling the snowmobiling. This is mainly a concern during high winter and autumn when there is a lot of storms and heavy snow.
