Super Jeep Visit to the Valley of Thundergod Thor, Eyjafjallajökull Volcano and its Surroundings.
Trip difficulty 2 out of 5 possible. Rated: Easy
We will pick you up in one of our custom made, super sized jeeps and head east along Iceland´s south coast. Our first stop will be at the 60 meter high Seljalandsfoss waterfall where you will get a chance to walk behind the powerfull curtain of water. From there the road under the famous volcano and glacier Eyjafjallajökull gets rough and we will cross several unbridged rivers before arriving at the Gígjökull outlet glacier. This is where the powerful glacier flood from the Eyjafjallajökull eruption burst through the ice and onto the sandy plains of the Markarfljót river.
We then continue on our way into the Þórsmörk valley, crossing several more rivers before we arrive at the Langidalur bridge of Krossá river. Taking a packed lunch with us we will hike up Valahnúkur mountain to gain a wide and sweeping view of the glaciers, mountains and rivers in the Kingdom of the Thundergod, guaranteed to be one of the highlights of your visit to Iceland. On our way back to civilization we will explore the incredible Stakkholtsgjá Canyon and its secret waterfall.
