Super Truck Eyjafjallajökull Volcano Tour to the south coast giving you the best possible view of the destructed area surrounding the volcano - restaurant lunch included.
Tour difficulty 1 out of 5
This super truck ride takes you to what is left of Gígjökull, the destructed outlet glacier from Eyjafjallajökull. This is where the melted ice from the eruption at Eyjafjallajökull rushed forward along with large masses of ice, creating a massive flood of destructive glacial water. What remains of the once enormous Gígjökull offers unique and breathtaking views unlike anything you have ever seen before. On this tour we will drive to Nauthúsagil canyon, a drive which takes you partly into the mountain itself. There we will do a bit of exploration on foot where we will follow an easy and accessible path into the canion. After this drive we will visit the beautiful Seljalandsfoss, a picturesque waterfall with easy access for wanting to get really really close to a waterfall. This part of the adventure is followed by a stop at a local restaurant for a two course lunch, starting with soup followed by either lamb or trout for main (included in price).
After "refueling" we will follow a private road up towards Eyjafjallajökull, a route which offers amazing view up to the top of the glacier and then over Westman Islands and Surtsey on our way back down (if weather permits). Finally we stop at Skógafoss and then head back to Reykjavik where we go off road onto the black sand beaches of Iceland´s south shore.
This trip is guaranteed to be one of the most memorable moments of your visit to the land of ice and fire.
